Who we are
Stokky is published by RAZAFINDRAMANANA Andry Henintsoa, an individual developer. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean the publisher, and "you" means the person using the app.
By installing or using Stokky, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.
What Stokky is
Stokky is a household inventory app. It records what you keep at home: products, where they are stored, how much is left, and when things expire. It can scan barcodes and store photos.
Stokky is available as an app for Android and iOS, and as a web app at stokky.henkinn.com. These terms cover all of them.
The app is free. It contains no advertising, no in-app purchases and no subscription. We do not sell your data — see our privacy policy for what we collect and why.
Using Stokky with or without an account
On Android and iOS, Stokky works without an account. In that mode your inventory stays in a local database on your device, and nothing reaches our servers. Because we never receive it, we cannot recover it — if you lose the device or uninstall the app, that data is gone.
Creating an account turns on sync and household sharing. The data already on your device is then moved into your household and stored on our servers.
The web app has no local database, so it always requires an account.
Your account
Give an email address you actually control — it is how you sign in, how a household invitation finds you, and the only way to recover access.
You can instead sign in with your Google account. Stokky then holds no password for you: signing in, and recovering access if you lose it, go through Google, under Google's own terms.
Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us if you think someone else is using it.
An account is for one person. You must be old enough to agree to these terms in your country, and at least 13 in any case. Stokky is not directed at children.
Your content stays yours
Everything you put into Stokky — your products, locations, quantities, notes, shopping lists and photos — remains yours. We claim no ownership of it.
You give us only the permission we need to run the service: to store your content, to sync it between your devices, and to show it to the other members of your household. That permission covers nothing else, and it ends when you delete the content or your account.
Households and sharing
A household is shared storage. Every member can see, add, change and delete what is in it. Invite only people you are willing to give that access to, and remember that a photo you add to a household is visible to all of them.
Deleting a household you own destroys it for everyone in it — every product, stock level and photo goes with it, not only yours. For that reason the app refuses to delete your account while a household you own still has other members. Hand the household over to another member first, or remove them. See deleting your account.
Leaving a household you do not own removes only your own membership. The household and its contents stay with the people who remain.
Acceptable use
While using Stokky, do not:
- break the law, or use the app to help someone else break it;
- upload content you have no right to upload, or photos of people who have not agreed to it;
- use another person's account, or invite yourself into a household you were not asked to join;
- attack, overload, probe or reverse-engineer the service, or try to reach data that is not yours.
We may suspend or close an account that does these things.
Product information from the open databases
When you scan a barcode, Stokky looks it up in Open Food Facts, and then in Open Products Facts for household goods, both open databases maintained by volunteers. It fills in the product name, and the product photo when one is there.
That information comes from a third party and may be wrong, out of date or missing. Do not rely on it for anything that matters to your health — allergens, ingredients, dietary restrictions. Read the actual packaging.
No warranty
Stokky is provided as it is, free of charge. We do not promise that it will be available without interruption, that it will be free of bugs, or that sync will always succeed. We may change or remove features.
Expiry dates and reminders are a convenience, not a food-safety system. Stokky is not a medical, nutritional or safety tool, and nothing it shows you replaces checking the product itself.
Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.
Our liability
We are liable for damage we cause by failing to meet these terms, to the extent that damage is a foreseeable result of that failure. We are not liable for indirect loss, for lost data you could have kept a copy of, or for loss caused by your own use of the app in a way these terms do not allow.
Nothing here removes rights the law gives you. French law does not allow us to exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or gross fault, or for the statutory guarantees owed to consumers — and this section does not try to.
Ending the agreement
You can stop at any time. Delete your account from Settings → Delete account, or simply uninstall the app. Deletion is immediate and permanent; the steps and the exact consequences are set out on the account deletion page.
We may suspend or close your account if you break section 7, or if we have to in order to comply with the law. If we decide to discontinue Stokky entirely, we will give notice in the app beforehand so you can export or copy your data.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change materially, the update date at the top of this page will change and a notice will appear in the app before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Stokky after that means you accept the new terms; if you do not, delete your account.
Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. Disputes may be brought before the courts of Lille, France.
If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, this does not deprive you of the protection of your own country's mandatory law, and you keep the right to bring proceedings before the courts where you live. You may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
